First elected in 2005 to Ards Borough Council representing the Ards Peninsula Ward. He has a keen interest in the planning system as well as the promotion of economic development through diversification on sustainable projects within rural areas and is always keen to market the Ards Peninsula and Strangford Lough as a major tourism destination. Joe’s contribution was critical to securing the future of the Exploris Aquarium when funding came under threat.
