Captain Douglas Ricardo “Doug” Beattie MC is an Irish[1] soldier and politician. “Born in barracks” in 1965, his father was a warrant officer in the Royal Ulster Rifles. Hi everyone. I live in Laharn, Lombardstown and is the youngest of seven! I became a member of Cork County Council representing the Mallow Electoral Area in June 2009 following success in the local elections. I also worked for the Communications Directorate of the HSE South until December 2013 where I then took a three year career break from the HSE to focus more on local polotics. I spend the remainder of my time (which is limited) chilling with friends and family and doing the “normal” stuff as they call it…!
